A Word about the New Orleans Area:
Please know that we are not...
repeat... NOT... underwater. Seems,
every time we see national stories about Louisiana,
especially the southern part, we still see people
waving at circling helicopters, pleading for someone
to rescue them. Yes, we are still in recovery
from 2005. So is Florida, for that matter,
from the season before. But, we've made an
amazing comeback, just like them. I don't know
what's worse about 2005... the tropical systems...
or the whirlwind of misinformation that started with
the national media. Out of town media
types, if you have to come down here again to
report, please invest in an area map. Review
some of the crazy local pronunciations, as you would
for any other part of the country. And, for
God's sake, some need to check agendas at the state
line before coming in.
